Who Is This For?
Backpack Communication is designed for School Leaders who are passionate about telling their district or school’s story, but don’t have the time or resources to communicate and implement that vision across their entire district and do so with consistency.
Backpack Communications serves school districts with communication needs of all sizes. Our tiered rate is based on district size and level of support needed.
- Level 1: Districts smaller than five schools or individual schools
- Level 2: 5 – 14 schools within a district
- Level 3: 15 – 24 schools within a district
- Level 4: 25+ schools
Backpack Communications serves school districts with limited resources in time and budget so they can prioritize positive communication and connection and STILL have enough time and resources to manage the unexpected needs that come up each day.

Why is consistency in communication, branding, and design so important? We have a logo, we send emails, and a social media presence - aren’t we doing enough?
Because of urgent needs and the quickness of social media, it’s easy for perceptions of schools to be quickly and negatively skewed both by its families and the communities they serve…
With never ending fires to put out, crises, and constantly frustrated parents, teachers, and support staff, it can be difficult to help others, both internally in your district and in your community, see ALL THE GOOD that you as a school system are doing day in and day out.
It only takes one decision that a parent doesn’t like to generate a TON of bad press these days, and those shared stories live on indefinitely in our highly connected world.
In an increasingly competitive environment where schools must prove their effectiveness on every level in order to thrive (from academics to the reputations in their community), schools can no longer afford to appear disorganized and incohesive with their communication OR haphazard and delayed in their sharing of events, staff changes, values, and achievements.
So what else can we do to build a meaningful connection with our community that is consistent?
By reaching out and sharing the real stories, impact, and structure your district is using to help teach outstanding students while supporting your staff on a daily and weekly basis, your communication can have an impact on everything from school enrollment, individual student achievement, parent and employee satisfaction, to improving the morale and pride of your city, county, or region!
Even if this is true (and needed), our staff are already maxed out with responsibility, they can’t possibly do more. Everyone is already giving their best efforts.
Without a doubt, school districts carry both influence and incredible responsibility, and for administrators and superintendents, attempting to step-up quality communication isn’t easy when you are juggling so many other responsibilities already. Time is simply a resource that we cannot create more of, and squeezing more hours out of already overloaded teachers, staff, and administrators isn’t a sustainable answer.
That’s why we’re here- to take the pressure off of your school district by providing a resource designed to increase the quality and frequency of communication even if you only have one or two overworked staff members covering this area for your entire district.
Instead of relying on them to produce templates, graphics, and branding from scratch, being the sole person to educate other staff members on creating graphics or visuals for your events, or navigating basic and difficult to use systems that don’t reflect your own school district’s themes and branding (if it has any at all!), Backpack Communications does the heavy lifting FOR you and your teams!
